Privacy Policy

Account information. When your organization creates an account for you, we collect your name, email address, role, and the property or properties you are assigned to. Your password is stored only in encrypted form.

Information you put into the Service. YesChef is a tool for running a kitchen, so it holds the business information you and your team enter or upload, including:

• Inventory items, counts, and units
• Vendor invoices — including photos or PDFs you scan, and the line items, pack sizes, and prices on them
• Recipes, ingredients, yields, and costs
• Banquet and catering pricing
• Sales figures, including data brought in from a connected point-of-sale (POS) system

Camera. If you scan an invoice, the app uses your device camera to capture the image. Images are uploaded to the Service so the invoice can be read and costed.

Face ID / Touch ID. You can choose to unlock the app with Face ID or Touch ID. This check is performed by your device — YesChef never receives or stores your fingerprint or face data.

Usage and device information. Like most online services, we collect basic technical information such as device type, app version, and log data needed to operate and troubleshoot the Service.

We use the information above to:

• Provide and operate the Service, including reading invoices and calculating food costs, recipe costs, and margins
• Show you sales, inventory, and cost dashboards
• Authenticate you and keep your account secure
• Send you account, password, and support messages
• Improve and troubleshoot the Service

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use the business data you enter to advertise to you.

We share information with a small number of trusted companies that process data on our behalf, only as needed to run the Service:

• Anthropic — reads the invoices and recipes you scan, using AI, so we can extract items and prices. This content is sent for processing and is not used to train models on your data.
• Toast — if your organization connects a Toast POS, we receive sales information from it.
• Railway — hosts our application and database.
• Resend — delivers our account and notification emails.
• Cloudflare — provides DNS and network services.

These providers are bound by their own agreements to protect the information they handle.

YesChef is a multi-property tool. Information you enter may be visible to other authorized users in your organization — for example managers, regional leaders, or administrators — according to the role each person has been given.

We keep your information for as long as your organization’s account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If your organization closes its account, we will delete or de-identify the associated data within a reasonable period, unless we are required to keep it to meet a legal or accounting obligation.

We protect your information with industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and encrypted storage of passwords. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your data and to address issues promptly.

You can review and update much of your account information inside the app. If you would like to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or you have a privacy question, contact us at the address below and we will respond.

YesChef is a business tool. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Effective date” above and, where appropriate, notify you within the Service.
